How do I obtain a quote and how long is it valid for?

To get an online quote, please complete the booking form on our website and select ‘Continue’.

Follow the prompts to choose your vehicle type, along with any accessories or extras you require. At this point you have the option of emailing the quote to yourself or to make a booking.

Your quote is valid for 48 hours. To proceed with a booking, use the link within your email (it will retain the details from your quote), or simply call us with your quote reference number located at the top of your email.

Alternatively, you can call our friendly reservations team on 08 9472 4222 and we can arrange the entire quote for you over the phone.

What do I need to make a booking?

You’ll need a valid drivers licence and credit card. Make sure you have these handy when making your booking, as you’ll be required to add relevant details for both your licence and credit card.

When you collect your rental car, you’ll need to present your drivers licence and credit card (the credit card must be in your name). Your driver’s licence must be valid for a minimum of 24 months.

If you hold a driver’s licence not in English format, you’ll also be required to present an international drivers licence (International Drivers Permit or IDP), in order to be able to drive in Australia. Additional charges also apply if you hold a foreign drivers licence (with the exception of New Zealand and the United Kingdom).

How old do you have to be to hire a car?

The minimum age to hire and drive a rental vehicle with Ace Rent a Car is 21. We will verify your age when you arrive to collect your hire car.

What is the minimum rental duration?

The minimum rental period is 1 day, inclusive of 100KM. Our rental days are calculated on a 24-hour basis.

Some vehicles have a minimum hire period, which you may notice when selecting your vehicle type upon booking.

If you haven’t arranged to extend your rental, you’ll be charged an additional $15 per hour. Late returns longer than 2 hours will be subject to the full daily rental rate.

When does my credit card get charged?

When making a booking you’ll need to provide your credit card details to secure your reservation. We’ll charge 10% of the rental at the time of booking, with remaining charges to be paid when you collect your vehicle.

You do also have the option of paying the remaining charges in cash or by debit card.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept credit or debit cards (Visa, Master or AMEX) for rental payment.

If you’re paying by debit card, a standard car rental security bond or pre-authorisation is required, which will be charged directly to your card. This is to cover the costs of any unforeseen circumstances, such as damage liability or fuel charges. The bond amount varies depending upon the category of vehicle you’re renting, the driver’s age and rental period. We will issue you a refund upon the safe return of the vehicle.

We do not accept American Express or Diners Club, cheques, travel money cards or any other prepaid card with monetary value.

Can I use someone else’s credit card?

We will only accept another person’s credit card if they are present at the time of vehicle pick up. This is to prevent potential credit card fraud or theft.

Can I make changes to my booking?

You can make changes to your existing booking (subject to availability) at no additional cost right up until the day of collection.

Can I extend my car hire?

You can extend the hire of your vehicle, subject to availability by calling our friendly team on 08 9472 4222.

Depending on your total rental duration, the rate you’ll be charged for the extended period may be subject to change. We will advise you of the cost and you’ll be required to authorise payment on your chosen credit card or debit card at the time of extension.

Do I get charged for cancelling my booking?

You won’t be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel your reservation at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled pick up date.

If you need to cancel a booking for December, you must give us at least 7 days notice, otherwise booking cancellation fees will apply.
